The monthly cleaning checklist
One deeper job each week of the month, on top of the weekly zones: the fridge properly in week one, skirtings and doors in week two, windows and screens in week three, linen and wardrobes in week four. A fifth list holds the any-week jobs, filters and bins, for whichever week has room.
Each job is an hour at most. It goes on the zone day it fits best, not on a separate cleaning day.
What is on the sheet?
The fridge, properly
Shelves out, wiped down, anything past it binned
Skirtings and doors
Handles, light switches, door frames, sills
Windows and screens
Inside glass, tracks, flyscreens hosed off
Linen and wardrobes
Refold, cull one bag, wash the spare bedding
Filters and bins
Whichever week has the room. Once a month is plenty.
