In the Australian Capital Territory, kerbside lids are red (general), yellow (recycling) and lime (garden waste). E-waste goes to a drop-off point, never a kerbside bin. Drink containers earn 10c through ACT Container Deposit Scheme since 2018. Some ACT supermarkets host a soft-plastics bin; check before you drive. Some older general waste bins still have a dark green lid, which is not the lime green garden waste bin. Glass goes in the yellow lid bin, and food scraps only go in the lime bin in the FOGO pilot suburbs.

Verge collections Council by council The ACT has no councils and runs no verge collections. Every Canberra household can book one free bulky waste collection of up to 2 cubic metres each financial year, online up to six months ahead, with bookings closing 14 days before the collection date.
